Abstract

684,487. Constructional toys; moulds. FRASER, W. D. Sept. 14, 1949. [May 6, 1949] No. 23704/49. Class 132 (iii). [Also in Group V] A mould for making toy blocks comprises a rectangular boundary frame 1 mounted on a board 2, and removable elements 4 which form rectangular compartments 5 within the frame 1. Elements 4 lying in one direction are rectangular faced and are apertured to receive rods (i lying eccentrically of the compartments 5. Recesses 10 are formed in the moulded blocks by the rods 6 which are withdrawn after moulding. Elements 7 may be placed in the compartments 5 to produce triangular blocks. The moulding material may be coloured and paper or metal foil, decorated to represent e.g. windows, doors, roofs, may be made to adhere to the moulded members. Pieces of metal or wood may be used in the recesses 10 to secure the blocks together, or for permanent structures, plaster may be used.
