Abstract
In the production of isobutyl alcohol by the catalytic reaction of carbon monoxide with hydrogen at elevated temperature and under pressure normal propyl alcohol, if desired, together with methyl alcohol or other oxygen-containing substances known for this purpose are introduced into the reaction vessel in addition to the carbon monoxide and hydrogen.
