Abstract
682,046. Sinks with garbage comminutors. NAMREED CORPORATION. Jan. 9, 1951 [Jan. 20, 1950], No. 614/51. Class 26 [Also in Group II] A garbage disposal unit for attachment to a sink comprises a comminutor having a fixed bar 21 with depending teeth, a fixed conical 1 strainer plate 27 .and between them, a cutter bar 24 provided with cutting edges on both sides of its lower edges and of its upstanding teeth 23 and oscillated by a hydraulic motor 40 through a rack 46, pinion 50 and an adjustable platetype overload clutch 51. Water under pressure entering the motor at 41 is controlled by an automatic four-way valve (not shown) to cause the piston rod 45 to reciprocate and the exhaust is connected to a tap 12 above the sink.
