679,048. Roofs. TARRAN, R. G. March 29, 1951 [April 13, 1950], No. 9077/50. Class 20(iv) A prefabricated roofing unit comprises a plurality of hingedly interconnected rigid frames which enable the unit to be transported in a collapsed condition in which it occupies substantially less space than in the erected position. The largest frame 10 comprising a rectangular frame with main rafters 10a interconnected by purlins 10b and the half ridge piece 10e supports or presents the actual roof surface, here shown as a metal sheet 10c over an insulating layer of glass wool. The rectangular frame 11 is hinged to the half ridge piece 10e at 15, and triangular frames 12, 13, 14 are hinged at 16 to the rafters 10a at purlins 10b. Frames 13 and 14 fold towards frame 12 which folds over frame 13, and frame 11 folds over frames 12, 13 and 14. The frames 12, 13, 14 when erected lie in a vertical plane at right angles to the vertically arranged frame 11 to which they are then connected by screws or bolts.
