Abstract
678,662. Supply meters. SIEMENSSCHUCKERTWERKE AKT.-GES. April 3, 1951 [April 26, 1950], No. 7746/51. Class 37. [Also in Group XXXIV] Relates to a motor meter wherein the bottom bearing is relieved of load by the upthrust on the shaft 1, Fig. 1, due to repulsion between a fixed cylindrical magnet 3 and a cylindrical magnet 2 concentric with and secured to the shaft 1. In accordance with the invention load on the bearings in the radial direction is reduced or eliminated by eccentric mounting of the shaft 1 within the hollow of the fixed magnet 3 whereby as indicated, Figs. 2 and 3, for two different locations of the brake magnet 6 there is opposition between the radial force as at 4 exerted by the magnet 3 and the resultant 67 of the forces 60, 70 exerted by the braking and driving magnets 6, 7 respectively.
