Abstract

677,488. Production of asbestos-cement sheets &c. WAECHTER, O. H. Aug. 1, 1950, No. 19221/50. Class 96. Asbestos-cement &c. is wound up on a making roller 10, sheets stripped therefrom being opened out, passed on a conveyer 12 to a rotary cutter 13, conveyed at 15 to a travelling belt 16 which passes through a drying chamber 17, e.g. heated by gas, electricity or radiant heat to 400‹ to 600‹ F., to dry the. outer strata of the sheets, and then through a cooling chamber 19 and to a platen or roll press 21, 22 with plain, intaglio, or relief rolls, e.g. to emboss a woodgrain pattern on the sheets.
