Abstract
677,260. Valve amplifying circuits. DUMONT LABORATORIES, Inc., A. B. Oct. 20, 1949 [Dec. 17, 1948], No. 26975/49. Classes 40 (v) and 40 (vi). In an amplifier comprising three or more stages coupled by pairs of tuned circuits 16, 17, 18 respectively, damping impedances 21, 22, 23 are so disposed as to minimize change in the frequency response when the grid bias is varied; according to the invention the number of damping impedances connected across primary circuits differs from the number put across secondaries, while the ratio of the product of the damping factors of the primary circuits to the corresponding product for the secondaries is made unity. As shown, the circuits are tuned by the valve capacities and two damping impedances 21, 22 are connected across primary circuits and one, 23, across a secondary. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 also refers to amplifiers comprising an even number of stages, in which the stages are compensated in pairs by applying damping resistances alternately to primary and secondary circuits in successive stages. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
