Abstract
677,121. Optical reflectors. TASSARA, L. Dec. 2, 1948 [Dec. 2, 1947], No. 31221/48. Class 97 (i). [Also in Group XL (b)] Composite mirrors for use, for example, in kinematography or television are formed by placing the individual mirror elements on the supporting surfaces of a mould or master formed according to the shape of the final body, for example a polygonal drum, holding the elements in place by pneumatic action while they are cemented together and then releasing the finished composite from the master. As shown in Fig. 4 the elements 2 are held by suction on the faces of a master 1-having conduits 5, 6 connected to a vacuum system. The elements are cemented together at 3, Fig. 3, and on releasing the vacuum the finished mirror shown in Fig. 3 is obtained. Alternatively the elements may be held in place by pressure.
