Abstract

677,014. Glazing bars. FAULKNER GREENE & CO., Ltd., and ROOKS, L. F. E. July 19, 1950 [Sept. 12, 1949], No. 23538/49. Class 20(iii). A two-part aluminium glazing bar for clamping panes 9 into position has a cap 7 which is secured.to a base component 6 by bolts 8 and nuts,19, the latter only being accessible from beneath, the component 6, i.e. from within the building. The web-headed bolts 8 are riveted at intervals along, and within, the forked end of the central stem 14 of the cap 7, the latter extending between flanges 12 on the base component 6 and the bolts 8 extending through corresponding slots in the base component 6 for connection with the nuts 19. The sides of the base component 6 are upturned to form gutters 11, ribs 15 carrying glazing cords 17 being provided to support the panes 9. The capping strips 6 are bent over the eave members of a roof, Fig.' 5, to lock the panes in position. In a modification, Fig. 4, the base component is provided with strengthening flanges 2, 3.
