A thermal switch suitable for controlling the heating of an aquarium tank is adjustable by a screw j which is located so as to be inaccessible without the aid of a detachable finger piece k. Rotation of the screw varies the position of a bimetal strip a carrying a contact e movable between a contact f and a stop g.
