Abstract
Esters of bis-(4-hydroxycoumarinyl-3) acetic acid are prepared by refluxing the lactone of bis-(4 - hydroxycoumarinyl - 3) acetic acid with alcohols containing one or more hydroxy groups. In the examples, the ethyl, isobutyl, benzyl and b -chlorethyl esters are prepared. Other esters mentioned are derived from methyl, iso-propyl, n-butyl, n-hexyl, n-heptyl, and n-octyl alcohols, glycol and propylene glycol. Specification 675,784 is referred to.
