674,844. Feeding sheets. BACKHOUSE, H. T. April 22, 1949 [April 22, 1948; Feb. 11, 1949], Nos. 11152/48 and 10708/49. Divided out of 674,842. Drawings to Specification. Class 100 (i). In apparatus for separating sheets one by one from a pile and wherein a gripper (e.g. a suction nozzle) engages an edge portion of each sheet in turn and bends it away from the body of the pile, and a nozzle in the form of a foot rests on the pile edge to direct a blast of air between the bent sheet and the pile, and is then lifted, a control valve for the air supply to the nozzle is located adjacent to the nozzle and is operated in timed sequence with the operation of the gripper and the movements of the foot. The apparatus is identical with that described in Specifications 674,842 and 674,843.
