Abstract

674,780. Moulding pre-stressed concrete girders. DELCOURT, M. F., DELCOURT, H. G., and TIMMERMAN, M. E. L. Feb. 28, 1950 [March 8, 1949], No. 5101/50. Class 87(ii) [Also in Group X] Wires 13 are passed through holes 11 in the end walls 6 of the moulds and are tensioned between abutments 3. The wires are then secured to the end walls of each mould by wedges 15, and the wires cut between the moulds. The moulds are run along a roller track to a table 17, where side walls having liners, Fig. 5, (not shown) are assembled on the moulds. Concrete is cast in the moulds and then the moulds are vibrated on a table 19. The concrete may be cast on the vibrating table. The length of the moulds may be varied by adjustable plates 7. Wedges 16 may be placed between the moulds and between the moulds and the abutments to prevent movement of the moulds when the wires are cut.
