Abstract

673,984. Babies diapers. SHELLER, Ltd., A. Nov. 2, 1950 [Aug. 5, 1949], No. 20410/49. Class 141. A baby's diaper comprises a support 1, Figs. 1, 2, of flexible synthetic resin material, e.g. polyvinyl chloride, having end pockets 3 into and between which can be removably inserted an absorbent pad 9, e.g. multi-layered, unsized softened paper. Over each pocket 3 is sewn a covering strip 4 of linen forming at its ends tabs 5, 6, loops 7 being provided on the tabs 5 and adapted to be engaged by the tabs 6 which are secured together by a button or as shown in Fig. 2, by tapes 8. The arrangement is such that the synthetic resin support 1 is kept out of contact with the baby's body by the pad 9 and the linen covering strips 4. Elastic is provided around the edges of the support 1.
