Abstract
672,155. Machines for making concrete blocks &c. FRAENKEL, E. June 30, 1950, No. 16383/50. Class 87(ii) Material in a hopper 19 is fed by a box 18 into a mould 6 guided for vertical movement on columns 3. The box is reciprocated by a lever 27 and a handle 30, and when it is over the mould, it is uncoupled from a hopper-closing plate 23 by means of a pivoted member 29 and an adjustable stop 32, to allow the box to be shaken without shaking the plate 23. The box is then moved back under the hopper to receive the next charge, and a ram 10 is lowered manually by a lever 15 against the pressure of springs 13. The material may be given several strokes of the ram, and it may be vibrated by an electric vibrator. When the material is compacted, the ram is held against the material by a lever 33 which is moved under a beam 17. The mould is then raised by a lever 8, and when the mould is clear of the block, a stop 36 on the mould disengages the lever 33, and the ram is drawn up by the springs 13. The block is then removed on a pallet 5. The hopper may be kept filled by an elevator belt.
