Abstract

671,275. Flanging. EVRARD, E. May 5, 1950, No. 11235/50. Classes 83 (ii) and 83 (iv) Making tees &c.-A tool for flanging an opening in the side of a tube of circular, polygonal or other section comprises a die 1 supporting a tube 2 and mounted on a part 3 secured to a bench by a clamp 4. A lever 8 rotates a nut 6 to move axially a screw 5 in which is rotatably secured a rod 10 with operating handle 12. A hole is made in the side of the tube positioned in the die 1. A male die 11 is screwed to the rod 10 and drawn through the hole to effect flanging of the hole in the tube. For non-circular holes the die 11 is positioned by manipulation of the handle 12.
