The invention comprises 4-acetoacetylaminobenzaldehyde - thiosemicarbazone and its preparation by heating 4-aminobenzaldehyde-thiosemicarbazone with diketene. In an example, 4 - aminobenzaldehyde - thiosemicarbazone is dissolved in acetone and refluxed with a slight excess of diketene.
