668,490. Mineral fibres. ALGEMEENE KUNSTVEZEL MAATSCHAPPIJ N.V. Jan. 19, 1950 [Jan. 28, 1949], No. 1452/50. Class 56. In the production of glass or other mineral fibres by dropping a stream of woollen material 1 on to a rapidly rotating body 2 from which the attenuated material is projected centrifugally a cooling zone is arranged to surround practically the entire periphery of the rotating body. This zone may be formed by an annular casing 3, through which cooling water is circulated, or by an annular tube 5 having orifices 6 forming jets 7 of gas or liquid directed on to the glass &c. being attenuated, or as shown both the casing 3 and tube 5 may be used.
