Abstract

668,050. Ladders. STOCK, R. Aug. 29, 1950. [July 11, 1950] No. 17278/50. Class 20(ii). A strut 8 to prevent slipping of a ladder leant against a wall is, when out of use, folded against the side of the ladder, is drawn out and turned over to be extended into use and is held in position by a tie-rod 18. The strut 8 is also held in operating position by a stud 14 on the ladder engaging a ratchet 13 on the stay. To fold the strut it is swung and slid over the stud 14 until a notch 15 engages a stud 16 on the ladder.
