Class 64(i) An air heater comprises a stove 10 enclosed by an air jacket 17 for heating air for combustion in the stove, and a heat - exchanger comprising vertical tubes 31 of elongated cross - section through which flow the combustion products from the stove and around which air to be heated and supplied to a building is forced through a surrounding casing 21, e.g. by a fan. The air jacket 17 is open at the top, and air enters the ash-pit through side openings controlled by thermostatically operated lightalloy dampers 15 linked and hung on fine wire. A U-shaped boiler 16 is provided.
