Abstract

662,035. Watches. EBAUCHES SOC. ANON. Oct. 19, 1949 [July 1, 1949], No. 26887/49. Class 139 A seconds mechanism for a watch movement comprises two co-axial wheels 15, 16, Figs. 2, 3, one driving (15) and the other driven (16), these two wheels being connected with one another by a spring 7 and having the same number of teeth, and an arresting member co-operating with these two wheels in such a way that on passage of each tooth of the driving wheel 15 the arresting member will be displaced by an amount sufficient to afford passage to the driven wheel 16 which is then actuated by the spring 7. The diameter of the driven wheel 16 is greater than that of the driving wheel and the arresting member is constituted by a double pawl 17, 17b, one arm 17b of which co-operates with the driving wheel and the other arm 17 with the driven wheel 16. A pin 12 on the wheel 15 cooperates with the spokes of the wheel 16 to determine the relative initial positions of the wheels 15, 16. The arrangement is such that with the wheel 15 " beating " fifths of a second the wheel 16 " beats " full seconds and is connected through the gears 3 and 2 to the seconds hand.
