Abstract
660,765. Electric resonators. WESTING- HOUSE ELECTRIC INTERNATIONAL CO. Nov. 29, 1949 [Dec. 17, 1948], No. 30587/49. Class 40 (viii). [Also in Group XL (c)] A tank circuit for a high-frequency oscillator valve 13 comprises an inner conductor 16 and an outer conductor 10 joined at one end, with a blocking condenser 17 disposed within conductor 10 and connected to the other end of conductor 16, and a connector 12 extending through an opening in conductor 10 and joining the condenser 17 to the anode of valve 13. Metal flaps 22 may be hinged to conductor 16 to provide tuning means. The condenser shown is formed by interleaving plates 18 and 19. In a modification the condenser 17 may be formed from two opposed plates with ceramic insulators therebetween. The grid of the valve is connected by a strap 27 forming the grid inductor, and a condenser 26 to conductor 10. The tuning flaps 22 may be replaced by a tuning condenser connected between conductors 10 and 16.
