Abstract
658,992. Bottles. FABERGE, Inc. June 11, 1948, No. 15792. Convention date, April 6. [Class 125(i)] A device for dispensing small amounts of liquid, such as scent, from a bottle, or vial, so that liquid is only delivered when the bottle, or vial, is shaken upside down or, when the outer face of the dispensing opening is rubbed across a surface, comprises a stopper-like member having a narrow passage therethrough and which is adapted to fit by an axial sliding movement tightly within the neck of the bottle. or vial. One or more small dispensing openings as at 16 are formed in a stopperlike element 14 made of a soft organic plastic material and provides, with a larger opening 15, a delivery passage for the liquid within a vial 10. The element 14 is secured in the neck 12 of the vial by cement 18 and a metal shell 19, the latter carrying a cap 24 which is provided with a sponge rubber pad 25, a layer or cork 26, and metal foil 27. In an alternative arrangement, Fig. 9, a detachable metal head 43 replaces the shell 19 and the cement 18. In a further construction a two part dispensing element comprises a part 57 having a larger upper opening 64, Fig. 13, which is adapted to receive a fluted part 56, Fig. 5. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also a dispensing element which is made of glass or other suitable material. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
