Abstract
658,899. Piezo-electric crystal mountings MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO.' Ltd. April 22, 1949, No. 10789. [Class 40 (viii)] A set of piezo-electric crystal plates C1, C2, C3 are loosely supported by the engagement of their lower electrode-free corners in slots formed between fingers F in a V-shaped metal sheet S, carried on a mica disc D1. The upper edges of the plates are located by a mica disc D3, which is joined by supporting rods R to disc D1 and to a third mica disc D2. Electrode coatings such as LC1 comprise a central part joined by a neck to one corner of the plate. The several neck parts are brought to different corners to facilitate spacing the leads W which are connected to the rods R and taken out at T, through the envelope E. In a modification, the supporting slots do not reach the edge of sheet S so that the fingers F are joined at their outer ends by a marginal strip which is bent up parallel to the edges of the crystals, Fig. 5 (not shown).
