Abstract

654,619. Kinematograph apparatus &c. COUTANT, A. C., and MATHOT, J. A. Dec. 13, 1948, No. 32169. [Class 97 (i)] A sound deadening casing for a kinematograph camera is wholly or chiefly made of a substantially rigid transparent material, the several parts of the casing being interconnected by substantially airtight joints or unions. In the form shown, the camera C is supported on rubber blocks 17, 18 in the main casing portion 1. This portion is closed at the front by a window 8 in a frame 9 supported on a hinge 10 and secured by a latch 11. A mounting block 19 is glued to the outside of the casing. The rear casing portion 12 is secured to the portion 1 at 13 and has a plane surface 15 forming a recess into which projects the viewfinder eyepiece 16 resiliently coupled to the camera. The casing may have two, three or more spaced walls with interposed fluid layers. The transparent walls are preferably formed of the material known by the Registered Trade Mark " Plexiglass ". The window 8 may, alternatively, be of glass or quartz.
