Abstract
654,260. Roller-and-breast mills. TORRANCE & SONS, Ltd., and WADHAM, H.. Nov. 18, 1947, No. 30627. [Class 59] The roller R of. a roller-and-breast mill is reciprocated by a swashplate mechanism which comprises in one) form, Fig. 1, a ring 15 pivoted to a forked extension of a member 12 driven through reduction gearing 2-6 by the roller shaft 1, the ring being fitted with diametrically opposed slipper members 19 engaging on inclined groove in a sleeve 10 keyed to the shaft 1. In a second form, Fig. 2, a ring 23, pivoted to the shaft 1, is fitted with shoes 25 engaging an inclined track 26 on a member 27 driven through reduction gearing by the shaft 1. The members 12 and 27 may alternatively be driven at a speed greater than that of the shaft 1. Specification 654,261 is referred to.
