[Class 8(ii)] [Also in Group XXI] In a carbon dioxide &c. fire extinguishing system comprising cylinders 11 closed by valves 16, the valves are opened by the pressure of the gas in the cylinders acting through pipes 35 on pistons 20 when valves 36 are opened by pressure derived from a conduit 25 acting through a conduit 47 on pistons 44. Knobs 46 provide for independent manual operation of the valves 36. A check valve 49 prevents pressure from the right hand portion of the conduit 25 from reaching the conduit 47 leading to the pistons 44. Check valves 26, 34 and 37 are also provided to prevent back flow. Specification 653,791 is referred to.
