Abstract
649,214. Wave-guides. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL, Ltd. Oct. 11, 1948, No. 26442. Convention date, Oct. 14, 1947. [Class 40 (viii)] Two wave-guides 1, 2 are coupled through a adjustable aperture in a common wall 3, and the ends of the guides are closed by adjustable conductive pistons 7, 8. The pistons may be in adjacent sections of the guides, and may be mechanically coupled. In a modification, Fig. 4, the aperture extends from the movable side wall 32 to a piston 37 extending across both guides 30, 31. A desired impedance transformation may be obtained by adjusting the size of the aperture and the positions of the pistons.
