649,032. Reversing looms. DIEDERICHS, LES FILS DE G. Aug. 27, 1947, No. 23739. Convention date, May 12, 1943. [Class 142(i)] [Also in Group XXIV] A reverse drive for a loom comprises a gear train 12, 13, 15 which can be meshed with gears 16, 14 on the input and output sides respectively of a clutch 2, 3 which transmits the normal drive from a motor 1. Depression of a handle 19 to engage the reverse drive brings a cam 34 into the path of a shoulder 43 on the clutch control handle 36, so that the forward drive cannot be engaged when the loom is in reverse; the cam also raises a handle 35 which takes off the brake and disconnects the take-up motion The depth of mesh of the gears 12, 13 is adjustable by means of an eccentric bush 10. A frangible pin 18 couples the gear 13 to the gear 15.
