Abstract
A coating-composition comprises an organic solvent solution of a vinyl copolymer containing 80-90 per cent by weight of combined vinyl chloride, 19.7-7 per cent of combined vinyl acetate, and 0.3-3.0 per cent of maleic or similar alpha, beta-olefinic unsaturated dicarboxylic acid, which may be produced as described in U.S.A. Specification 2,329,456. The solvent may be methyl ethyl ketone, methyl isobutyl ketone, or acetone. Plasticizers or high-boiling solvents such as diethylene glycol monoethyl ether acetate or dioctyl phthalate, and dyes or pigments, may be added.ALSO:An adhesive for sticking paper to vinyl resin surfaces that have been prepared by application of a vinyl copolymer size (see Group IV (a)), comprises wheat flour, glucose, minor amounts of beta naphthol and ammonium alum, and water.
