Abstract

[Class 141] A side fastening wrap-round corset which extends from the waist of a wearer to the hips is formed of a solid front part a which is joined by elastic inserts c, c<SP>1</SP> and lower elastic coverings c<SP>111</SP> to a solid back part a'. Tensionless pleats d<SP>3</SP> are formed in the material between the three spaced sets of stiffening steels b, b<SP>1</SP>, b<SP>1</SP> enclosed in the panel a, and also between the joins of the latter to the inserts c, c<SP>1</SP>, and the lateral edges of the set of stiffeners. Two or more strips of elastic webbing e extend across the pleats and are sewn to the front panel at e<SP>1</SP>, e<SP>11</SP> as shown in the outside and part inside views of Figs. 3 and 4 respectively.
