Abstract

647,291. Hair-dryers. COOKE, F. G. Jan. 14, 1948, No. 1125. [Class 81(ii)] In an electric hair dryer of the type comprising a fan, motor and heater which are arranged in the body of a casing provided with a handle by which the user holds the dryer, the fan 11, motor 18 and heater 14, together with switches 22 for the motor and heater, are made up as an assembly which is mounted as a whole in the casing 2, the switches being arranged in the body of the casing, immediately behind the handle of the dryer, where they are accessible for manipulation by the thumb of the hand which holds the dryer. The motor, fan and heater are assembled on a bracket 17 secured to the casing by screws (not shown) and the switches are mounted on a bracket 23 secured to the motor. The handle and casing may be made as a single casting.
