Abstract

647,226. Reinforced tubes; supporting tubes. COMMUNICATIONS PATENTS, Ltd., and HAIM, G. Nov. 29, 1947, No. 31607. [Class 99(ii)] A plastic tube 1, for example of polythene or polyvinyl chloride, has a lengthwise extending circumferential projection 2 which accommodates a non-self-coiling, tension-sustaining reinforcement 3 such as a wire, thread, cable &c. The tube may be suspended by anchoring the reinforcement to supports or, as shown, part of the reinforcement may be bared for the attachment of a clamp. The tube 3 may have multiple and separate passageways, and the reinforcement may be made of a ductile material to facilitate the construction of curved sections of a pipe line.
