[Class 99(ii)] [Also in Groups X and XXVI] The sealing element for a flame or gas seal comprises a hollow flexible telescopic tube 10 made from strip metal &c. having a flat S-section wound into helical form, the flange at one edge of the section engaging the flange at the other edge with a packing element 10a located between the interengaging edges of the section. The tube 10 may be sheathed in rubber &c. 11. The tube ends are joined by welding or so that they may be disconnected.
