645,887. Frequency changing. WESTING- HOUSE ELECTRIC INTERNATIONAL CO. Dec. 12, 1947, No. 32794. Convention date, Dec. 14, 1946. Drawings to Specification. [Class 38 (ii)] A frequency conversion system comprises a plurality of electronic valves for interchanging power between two alternating current circuits characterized by two groups of valves, each group having a separate cathode bus-bar, a mid-tapped transformer connected across the two cathode bus-bars, and means to connect this mid-point to the neutral point of the supply. Fig. 1 and the description thereof in this Specification are substantially the same as in Specification 645,950. A further embodiment comprises an arrangement to operate on a six-phase supply having twelve ignitrons with their anodes connected to the phases in pairs, one in each group. The secondary windings of the ignitor coupling transformers are centretapped, thus each energizes the excitation electrodes of two ignitrons. The auxiliary anodes are energized without parallel phase energization as in the alternative embodiment in Specification 645,950.
