644,642. Liquid-fuel stoves; liquid-fuel burners. BAILEY, W. A. Jan. 19, 1948, No. 1615. Convention date, Oct. 12, 1946. [Classes 75(i) and 126] A stove utilizing fuel rendered liquid in the apparatus in the course of its operation includes a casing containing a fuel receptacle the lower end of which is surrounded by a burner having valve controlled passageways between it and the fuel receptacle. The cylindrical fuel receptacle 16 having a hinged lid 16b and side fins 16a is disposed centrally within the casing 42, and its lower end is surrounded by an annular wick 41 contained in a U-section annular wick-holder 13. Melted fuel passes from the fuel receptacle to the wick through outlet 18 communicating by hollow radial arms 17 with the bottom of the wick-holder 13. A worm gear 28 mounted on a shaft 29 causes the opening 18 to be partially closed by a needle-valve 19 at the same time as gears 31 also mounted on the shaft 29 and engaging racks 32 causes the lowering of an annular baffle or snuffer 36 over the top of the wick-holder 13. A priming pan 24 for melting solid fuel after recharging is arranged round the hub 22 of the needlevalve 19 and a filter 18a is provided within the fuel receptacle 16 above the fuel outlet 18. An annular grid 46 is placed over the top of the casing 42 which casing is provided with vertical air intake slots 45 and may be removed for lighting the stove. Levelling screws 12 are provided.
