Abstract

643,948. Aerating liquids. INFILCO, Inc. June 29, 1948, No. 17417. Convention date, April 22. [Class 14(i)] [Also in Group XII] In an aerating device for a liquid in which gas is drawn by induction into a jet of the liquid, the gas is carried by conduits 56, 57 to a chamber 11 submerged in the liquid and a film-like jet of the liquid is ejected radially from a slot 47 around the periphery of a centrifugal runner or impeller 30 mounted on a shaft 23 driven by a motor located above the liquid surface. The jet passes through a peripheral opening 28 formed between sections 17, 18. of the gas chamber 11 into the surrounding liquid. In Fig. 7, not shown, the chamber 30 is stationary, the jet pressure being produced by a separate pump.
