Abstract
A pesticidal dust-like composition is prepared by puddling a finely divided inert solid material with a solution of benzene hexachloride containing the gamma isomer and subsequently removing the solvent. The pesticide, solvent and powdered solid, may be mixed together directly, or the pesticide may be dissolved in the solvent and the solution so formed mixed with the powder. The solvent may be removed by the application of heat, air currents or vacuum, and is preferably easily volatile at room temperature, e.g., methyl alcohol, acetone and ether. The benzene hexachloride may consist of the gamma isomer per se or a mixture of isomers, particularly the alpha and gamma isomers in which either the alpha or gamma isomer predominates. Specified inert materials are china clay, talc, chalk gypsum or anhydrite. Specification 573,689 is referred to.
