Abstract

641,139. Regulating teeth. GLENROSS LABORATORIES. Ltd. July 1, 1948, Nos. 17743 and 22811. [Class 81(ii)] An expander device for an appliance for correcting natural teeth comprises a pair of complementary blocks 22 slidably engaged together and an expander screw having stem portions 19 extending in opposite directions from a centre hub 18 accommodated in a space between the blocks 22, said stem portions having respectively left-hand and right-hand screw threads and engaging into correspondingly threaded holes in the blocks whereby the blocks can be moved apart by applying a turning movement to the hub. In use the device is affixed to a plate 31 which is then cut down the centre as indicated at 33: the complete appliance may then be expanded by manipulating the expander screw.
