Abstract
638,080. Sound reproducing devices. WILLSON, H. C. July 14, 1947. No. 18686. [Class 40 (iv)] A centring device for the moving coil of a moving-coil loud-speaking telephone comprises two superposed layers of fabric formed with interstices which allow the passage of air but prevent that of dust particles, each layer having the form of an annulus and the second layer b being of smaller radial depth than the first - layer a. Preferably the fabric is impregnated with a synthetic resin such as that sold under the Registered Trade Mark " Bakelite " before the layers are stamped out. The two layers are superposed, and are corrugated as at f by placing them in a heated mould to a temperature sufficient to cause polymerization of the resin. Spokes c, d, e may be provided on the second layer b so that the leads g, h of the moving coil may each be housed between a spoke and the layer a. A strip k is then housed between the third spoke e and the first layer for balancing purposes.
