635,105. Agricultural implements. SALMON, J. Oct. 3, 1947, No. 26691. [Class 6(i)] [Also in Groups XXXI and XXXII] A steering device for a tractor-drawn implement comprises a rack a secured to the rear of the tractor, a guide bar c engageable with the rack a, a steering lever d connected to the guide bar c, and a further bar g on the tractor to which the implement is connected. As shown the rack a is connected to frame members b and the draw bar h of tractor, and the rack a can be engaged as shown in full lines in Fig. 1 by the guide bar c connected to the bifurcated steering lever d, which is pivoted at e to the implement frame f and is controlled by an operator seated on the implement. The tractor and implement are also connected by a sliding connection between the bar g and the draw bar k of the implement so that, when the guide bar c is disconnected from the rack a as shown in dotted lines in Fig. 1, the tractor can undertake, for example, a right-angled turn without being impeded by the implement whilst the latter takes up the relative position shown in dotted lines in Fig. 2.
