Abstract

634,307. Magnetrons. COMPAGNIE GENERALE DE TELEGRAPHIE SANS FIL. Aug. 8, 1946, No. 23598. Convention date, Nov. 12, 1943. Drawings to Specification. [Class 39 (i)] A magnetron tube, for use as a variablecapacity reactance device, whose anode voltage and/or magnetic field may be varied to vary the capacity at a very low frequency, while maintaining the anode voltage and magnetic field at such relative values that the tube is blocked, comprises a planar cathode between and parallel to two planar anodes. The electrodes are close together and the anode voltage not too high to avoid ionization of any gas residue in the tube. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also a magnetron having a cylindrical anode and an axial cathode. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
