632,548. Electrically - actuated valves. DRAYTON REGULATOR & INSTRUMENT CO., Ltd., GROVER, R. V., and FORSTER, R. R. Nov. 5, 1947, No. 29510. [Class 135] In apparatus for controlling the flow of fluid through an electrically-operated diaphragm valve having an electric motor 1 driving a disc 2 associated with a spring-loaded bell-crank 6 connected to a push-rod 8 for operating the valve, the "disc has two pins or rollers 4, 5, adapted to be brought consecutively into contact with one arm of the bell-crank. The pin 4 normally operates the bell-crank, but in order to prevent overtravel of the disc, the pin 5 contacts the bell-crank nearer its fulcrum 9 in order to place an increased load on the motor immediately before the latter reaches its stalling position. Immediately after pin 5 has contacted the bell-crank, a cam 13 on the disc shaft 12 operates a switch 14 to cut out part of the motor stator winding.. When the push-rod is lifted away from the diaphragm 10, the fluid-pressure lifts the diaphragm to open the valve 11.
