Abstract

632,486. Furniture joints. KOCKS SNICKERIFABRIKER AKTIEBOLAGET. Dec. 23, 1947, No. 34061. Convention date, May 21, 1946. [Class 52 (ii)] In a furniture joint wherein a leg is provided with a wedge or wedges the converging edges of which are of dovetail section for engagement with a corresponding groove in the adjacent surface of a table top or other article of furniture the leg 2 is provided with a member 5 on which the wedge 6 is mounted and which is of a shape and size as to cover completely the groove 4 when the leg is in position. As shown the member 5 is secured to and carried by the leg 2 so that with a portion of the leg it completely covers the groove 4 which is formed by a plate 3 glued to the table top 1. The groove may however be formed in the table top itself. In a modification a pair of legs may be joined together by a member which carries one or more wedges co-operating with corresponding grooves in the table top &c. As shown the completed joint may be secured by a screw 8<SP>1</SP> which passes through an elongated slot 7 whereby the wedge joint may be tightened when the screw 8<SP>1</SP> is slightly loosened.
