Abstract

631,193. Amusement vehicles. TYRE PRODUCTS, Ltd., and HIGHFIELD, G. N. Jan. 3, 1947, No. 235. Drawings to Specification. [Class 132 (i)] [Also in Group XXXII] An amusement vehicle of the dodgem car type is equipped with an encircling buffer formed in sections, each of which comprises (a) a rubber or like resilient piece, secured to the chassis so that it is compressible to a substantial degree in order to absorb shocks, and (b) an outer band of steel or like rigid material secured to the resilient piece. Instead of each resilient piece having its individual rigid band, each band may be secured to a plurality of resilient pieces or a continuous band encircling the vehicle may be provided. The resilient pieces may be formed with a longitudinal bore and secured to the vehicle chassis and outer rigid band with the aid of bolts protruding into the bore.
