[Class 80 (i)] A mechanism such as a steering mechanism for the transmission of rotary motion from a shaft a to a shaft d comprises a worm b engaging a sector c on an intermediate shaft f which has arms f, f<1> carrying a pin g co-operating with a slot h<1> in an arm h on the shaft d. The arrangement provides for an increasing mechanical advantage between the intermediate shaft f and the shaft d on either side of a central position.
