Abstract
626,846. Drawing. HEAD, WRIGHTSON, & CO., Ltd., WRIGHTSON, Sir T. G., and LAKE, N. C. Feb. 2, 1945; No. 2735. [Class 83 (iv)] In drawing apparatus tubes &c. are lifted by conveyers 12 into alignment with driven rolls C, closed to grip one or more tubes by a fluid cylinder 23 and fed over groups of two or more mandrels 38 into guide tubes 1 in a holder A. The holder is rotated 180 degrees by a fluid cylinder and gearing 6 to align the tubes with a die E to which they are fed by driven rolls 25, 26 or by axial movement of the mandrels by fluid cylinders 41. The holder A may be moved transversely for alternate passes for small tubes. The rolls C are mounted on geared quadrants rotated to allow tubes to be fed axially of the rolls by the conveyer 12. Untagged tubes may be pushed from the holder A as described in Specifications 567,662 and 569,934.
