Abstract

625,084. Aerating liquids. AGHNIDES, E. June 22, 1938, No. 18571. [Class 14(i)] [Also in Group II] A device for aerating water comprises a casing 4 adapted to be secured to a tap or the like 1, for example by a coupling 2 such as is described in Specification 451,142, [Group XXVIII]. The stream of water under pressure from the tap is subdivided by a perforated plate 6 and induces air through channels 8. The mixed air and water are forced through one or more sieves or apertured plates 10, one at least of which has very small perforations arranged very close together. The outlet 12 of the casing is contracted, to re-unite the streams of aerated water passing through the sieves. In modifications, the casing screws on to the tap and the plate 6 is provided only with central or peripheral holes. In another modification, Fig. 6, the casing 26 is mounted on a rubber member 24 having grooves in its outer surface to form air channels 25. The member 24 has a recess to receive the perforated plate, and is connected to the tap or hose 30 by a tubular connector 29. Three sieves 27 are provided.
