Abstract

624,837. Wheels for vehicles. MALMQUIST, N. G. A., and SVENSKA AKTIEBOLAGET BROMSREGULATOR. July 11, 1947, No. 18543. [Class 144 (i)] In a resilient wheel wherein a hub and a rim are resiliently connected with each other by means of hub discs 10, 11 and a rim disc 12, at right angles to the shaft and interspaced by blocks 1, 2 of resilient material such as rubber clamped under axial compression between the discs 10, 11, 12 and having sheet metal coverplates 3, 4 on their surfaces facing said discs, the said cover-plates 3, 4 have, at least under working conditions, their outer sides concave and are each provided with a central, conical projection 5 co-operating with a corresponding recess 6, 7 or 8 in the discs 10, 11 or 12 respectively so that they bear against the discs only along their outer periphery and at their central projection 5. The projections 5 may have a central boring and the two seated in the recesses 8, which may form a through hole drilled in the disc 12, may house a longitudinally and transversely split retaining sleeve 15. The coverplates 3, 4 may be flat when in a free state, becoming outwardly concave when clamped, with the resilient blocks 1, 2, between the discs 10, 11, 12. The cover-plates 4 may be provided with locating pins 13 near their periphery engaging in corresponding holes 14 in the disc 12. Specifications 449,738 and 476,543 are referred to.
