Abstract
622,940. Dental elevator. DEPESTRE, J. P. Sept. 2, 1946, No. 26316. Convention date, Aug. 31, 1945. [Class 81(ii)] A rotary dental elevator comprises two main bodies 1 and 6, the lower of which constitutes a handle 1 having at its lower extremity two projecting arms 2, and at its upper extremity an externally threaded cylindrical portion terminating in a projection 5, which is internally cylindrical and externally of square cross-section, on which is fitted the lower end of the main body by the union being effected by an internally s c r e w - threaded collar 7. The upper end of 6 is externally hexagonal and has a cylindrical cavity into which is screwed an element 9a comprising a hexagonal flange and two hemispherical shells 9 which accommodate a sphere 11 having a tongue 11a with a chisel or gouge face 11b. Cavities or bores in the sphere coincide with the tapered end of a square rod 12, which may be fixed by catch 13, positioned in the body 6 and actuated by a spindle 4 which extends through handle 1 and terminates in a screwed head 3. On the hexagonal upper end of 6 is fitted an hexagonal ring 10 which is adapted to slide upwardly to fix on to the collar 9a.
